Meant to post a review earlier but only just got around to it after a hectic couple of weeks. With only Jerry to meet this event had a much more intimate feel about it. No one was rushed through the signing and Jerry was very patient and accommodating to everyone's requests for autographs, mission inscriptions and photos.
His wife Karen manned a table full of personal items Jerry had brought to sell. They were amazing to inspect and I only wish some of the space flown items had fallen into my price bracket.
Jerry's talk lasted well over an hour and was full of information and stories from NASA. If you have read "Spacewalker" then a lot of what was said would have been familiar but it was still very interesting to hear it from the man himself.
Jerry also gave a commentary on videos of his missions STS-27 and STS-110 then finished off with an extended Q&A.
This was the first time Autographica had done a one guest event and the setup worked really well. I'm hoping the flexibility of this type of set up will allow Autographica to attract more astronauts over to the UK in the future. But they will have to go along way to beat the impression Jerry and Karen left on everyone who met them.
